Do you know how easy it is to have beautiful skin? All it takes is a little attention, proper care, and… love. We’ve put together a few invaluable tips to help you give your skin all of that.
Young skin is strong when it is balanced and protected. If you take proper care of it, you’ll soon find yourself enjoying flawless skin. Cleanse your skin with products that are as natural as possible, use gentle daily skincare with light formulas, emulsions, or serums that won’t clog your pores, and follow a few simple tips.
1. Put an end to improper washing
Of course, you should wash your face in the morning and at night, but there are a few things you need to know:
Don’t wash your face with soap, because it’s the biggest threat to your skin’s pH balance. Its pH is over 10.5, while your skin’s pH ranges from 4.5 to 5. Facial cleansers often have the same effect because of the sulfates they contain. This disrupts your skin’s balance, dries it out, and triggers it to produce more sebum. This traps you in a vicious cycle of skin that’s either constantly oily or dry and flaky.
Solution: Cleanse your face with micellar water. Choose Back to Balance Micellar Water with a low pH (4.7) to easily restore your skin’s balance and combat inflammation and breakouts.
2. Read the labels
We know it’s easiest to choose a product when someone recommends it to you, but still—take a few minutes to read the label. It may seem like a tedious or unnecessary task, but doing so will help you develop a responsible attitude toward your health, expand your knowledge, and make the right choice.
One of the most important things you need to know is the product’s pH level. Ask the pharmacist or contact the manufacturer, but if they can’t answer, it means the product isn’t designed to be gentle on the skin. Otherwise, the pH range would be publicly known.
Solution: If you’re unable to get the information you need, contact us. Our expert dermatologist will answer your questions and advise you on what to choose and how to care for your facial skin.
3. Eat smart
All the bacteria in our bodies exist in a symbiotic relationship. When you disrupt the balance of your gut flora, it shows up on your face in the form of inflammation, pimples, and the first signs of acne.
We recommend cutting back on junk food, processed foods, and juices as much as possible. Foods high in salt, sugar, or processed and canned ingredients have no nutritional value; they only contribute to an imbalance in the body. Consuming too much sugar or salt causes water retention in the body, which affects the skin—it looks puffy and tired.
And one more important thing: don’t forget that alcohol dehydrates the body and is a common cause of premature skin aging and the appearance of wrinkles, regardless of how young you are.
Solution: Fresh fruits and vegetables work wonders for your skin. Include more of them and various types of nuts in your diet, as well as seafood at least once a week.
4. Love your skin
Don’t be hard on your skin—help it deal with its imperfections. The more love you show it, the healthier and happier your face will be!
The obsession with “porcelain-white skin” or the “perfect selfie” causes unnecessary stress, as do aggressive cosmetic procedures and antibacterial products. Heavy makeup often contains formaldehyde and other chemicals that are harmful to your health and disrupt your skin’s natural balance.
Solution: Keep makeup use to a minimum. Your skin is young—stick to basic skincare to restore its natural beauty and achieve the right bacterial balance.
